We rock the status-quo of consumerism by developing sustainable alternatives to single use products

Bambaw Team

Bambaw’s mission is to reduce waste created on earth by developing zero-waste products and spreading awareness about sustainable living.

Founded in Brussels in 2017, Bambaw developed a broad portfolio of products made to replace wasteful items. This media kit supports the second part of our mission to increase awareness about sustainable living with you.

The media kit contains information about the zero-waste movement. For each subject, you can download a respective press release. Also, a few of our favourite Bambaw zero-waste swaps are presented. For every swap, you can download the related press release and two high definition illustrations of the products.

At the end of the media kit you find a contact section. If you want samples or need more information, please contact us. Access to Bambaw’s digital library is also shared at the end of the document.

Why Zero-Waste?

Zero-waste swaps

Zero-waste swaps are designed to replace single use by assessing the complete lifecycle of each product, including production, lifetime, and final disposal. All are developed to have the lowest ecological footprint possible and accelerate the switch towards a circular consumption.

The zero-waste philosophy

The zero-waste philosophy is rethinking the traditional way of looking at waste. Waste is a detrimental innovation from humankind, and it becomes obvious that we cannot continue this way if we want the world to stay a liveable place for future generations.

Zero-waste facts

Plastic waste is everywhere: from the oceans to the soil. The average EU citizen already produces half a ton of trash each year and worldwide waste is projected to increase. As a result, humans consume the equivalent of a credit card of plastic each week, impacting human health.

Every day, 51.000 trees are being chopped down for single-use paper towels. A highly unsustainable practice which is exacerbated by huge amounts of fuel needed for transport. A reusable kitchen roll counters these effects as an eco-friendly alternative.

Plastic cutlery is one of the most common and hazardous marine litter. Animals tend to mistake it for food and suffocate consequently. The simplest solution for this is to bring your own cutlery everywhere. Allowing you to always refuse single-use cutlery.

Cotton is one of the most pesticide, fertiliser, and water intensive crops. This compromises soil quality significantly. Therefore, it is not suitable for single use. Alternatively, reusable makeup pads are more varied without straining the environment.

Straws are a fun accessory for many people. Unfortunately, they are only used shortly, before disappearing into nature for centuries. Bamboo straws are the eco-friendliest option, as they are made from rapidly growing bamboo and are reusable for years.

Single-use razors embed metal in plastic, making them impossible to recycle. Still, billions are thrown away each year, contributing to a massive pile of non-recyclable trash. A traditional safety razor can be used a lifetime, without producing any waste.
